Book Talk Review; The Perfect Game

The first in our J Sterling Feature, The first in The Game Series

 The Perfect Game

He's a game she never intended to play.
And she's the game changer he never knew he needed.

The Perfect Game tells the story of college juniors, Cassie Andrews and Jack Carter. When Cassie meets rising baseball hopeful Jack, she is determined to steer clear of him and his typical cocky attitude. But Jack has other things on his mind . . . like getting Cassie to give him the time of day.

They are damaged, filled with mistrust and guarded before they find one another (and themselves) in this emotional journey about love and forgiveness. Strap yourselves for a ride that will not only break your heart, but put it back together.

Sometimes life gets ugly before it gets beautiful...

OMG I loved this book so much! Jack Fucking Carter is one of the most sexy and most fierce BBF's out there.

I love this story. Jack and Cassie are both such good characters and Jenn is an awesome writer.

Jack is the popular womanizing rising MLB hopeful. Cassie is the Sweet Photography Major who has a fiery attitude that Jack can't stay away from.

Jack and Cassie don't exactly hit it off. Cassie seems a little repulsed by him and his reputation. Jack is drawn to her and her fierce green eyes.

One date turns into the roller-coaster of a romance...

Jack and Cassie both have trust issues. They have both been hurt by the past and they both allow those insecurities to control them. When they fall in love, they fall hard. And when they fall apart, they tumble down harder.

I cried during this book. After Cassie and Jack fall apart I spent a good part of the book both hating and loving Jack.

I have read this book multiple times. Which is something. I hardly ever reread but this is one of my go-to books when I do. And every single time, even though I know it's coming and I know what's going to happen at the end,I still cry like it's the first time.

That there is a complement to Jenn's skill. An author who can write a book so that every time you read it feels like the first is a pretty fucking amazing writer.

I'll admit that while Jack does redeem himself at the end of this book, I was still kind of pissed off at him. When we got the second book I was so excited and I couldn't wait because I desperately wanted to fall helplessly in love with Jack again.

This book goes through the hard times of following your dreams and falling in love and living life.

This book is about forgiveness and it is one of my absolute favorites.

This book grabs your heart and Jack Fucking Carter is the hot sexy cocky asshole Ball Player that you can't help but love.

*Quote- "Listen, I know we're both fucked up. We both have trust issues and this thing happening between us is scary as hell. But when I told you I loved you, I meant it. I didn't mean that I'd love you only if it was easy, or only if it was drama-free. I think we both know life isn't like that."- Jack Carter

"Have you ever noticed how pretty and beautiful words can be? How easy it is to say the things you think someone wants yo hear. How you can affect a person's entire day with just a few measly sentences? But when you don't follow them up with any action, they're completely pointless. They're just sounds and syllables. But they mean absolutely nothing."- Cassie Andrews
