Destructive Series by LU Ann Blog Tour

Hey, I have Blog Tour on The Destructive Series by LU Ann

*Note- I Received ARC's for honest Reviews.

I am just going to do a general Review so I don't bore ya'll to death with my random scattered thoughts.

These two books made me cry a lot. It was so heart breaking and so emotional that there were times I couldn't go on because The tears were coming so hard.

Lacey is so strong and I can't imagine all the things she had to go through.

Lacey has been hurt by someone she trusted before and at nineteen she doesn't want to get close to anybody. She doesn't want to get hurt. Then she meets Caine.

The Destructive Series is about Lacey's journey as she tries to forget her past and work towards a better future.

Life isn't always so easy and The emotions are overwhelming. You get a good feel of what the character is going through. The author really did an amazing job on showing the reader Lacey's journey.

Lacey is so strong and my heart broke many times for her and I cried many tears for her.

Nobody should have to go through what Lacey went through. And it opens readers eyes to a whole different world of writing and true heartbreak.

I am looking forward to the third book in this series. Look forward to see where this journey is taking this very special person.

 Now for the good stuff.

I kept it short because there is just so much that I can't spoil for you guys and this is really an experience you can get from reading the actual book.

Here is the Destructive Choices Link that Came out the 21th:

Barnes & Noble:

One night, Lacey realized she might be able to run from her past with the help of Becca and one steamy Caine Rogers.

Lacey didn't know, until it was too late, how feelings, honesty, heartbreak and life altering events can change a person. Lacey has Becca’s support but will that be enough?

Will Lacey sacrifice her own happiness to do what is expected?

If the decisions you make don’t define you, what price would you pay to change them?

“Close your eyes. This is the darkness I see, I feel, I live because of my choices."

I spent my life running. Running from my past. A past that changed my life, robbed me of my childhood, and bound me for a life of silence. Silence protected me from further hurt. When I couldn't control my life, I found reprieve in my silence. Dark, cold silence. I’m trapped, trying to find my way out, trying to make a stand, trying to finally live; but is it too late?

Lacey Edwards fought emotional turmoil most of her life. She made choices that unknowingly put her through more painstaking heartache. She found bits and pieces of happiness in all the wrong areas except for one. This one gave her hope for a fresh new life full of promises. Could she hold onto it, or would it slip through her fingertips?

Author L.U. Ann moved to Colorado from the Eastern Shore of Maryland with her husband and two children. Life in Colorado is so much different. In Maryland, you would find her in the garden tending to her vegetables and flowers, sea glass and shark tooth hunting once a week, and enjoying the kids swimming in the backyard. Her life took a drastic change when her family moved to their own “Little House on the Prairie" at an elevation of over 6,000 feet above sea level, and a semi-arid climate that makes it hard to grow anything. While barely anything can grow where she resides now, the wildlife makes up for it. Mountain Lions, and coyotes, and rattlesnakes, oh my!

She tries to spend a little time each day writing, but domestic chores around the house usually take precedence. She would much rather hide them from her husband. She tends to her loving four-legged children who at times become much too demanding when she locks herself in the office. This often results in MORE domestic work, and she finds herself cleaning up after their deviant behavior.

At night, you’ll find her begging the kids to go to bed so that she can catch up on the latest book before her sister can. Yes, she is an avid reader who escapes her chaotic but wonderful home to the feisty depths of romance land in search of her newest book boyfriend. Shh, don’t tell her husband!

She is an artist by the grace of God. She worked as a set designer for six years, helping establish a local children's theatre where she was the scenery artist, set, and prop designer. Before that, you would find her covered in paint, so engrossed in painting a mural that time didn't exist. Graphic design is her guilty pleasure.

Special Note From L.U. Ann

I created this Young Adult Edition to reach a wider audience. Lacey is nineteen years old and finishing high school. The issues she faces are the very issues a teenager could be facing right now, some possibly even younger.

This series deals with heavy life issues. Issues that are real. It may not be for everyone, but it's a reality for so many. I hope you take some valuable information away from reading A Destructive Novel series. If anything, please read the resources found in the back of each book.

Thank you for the opportunity to tell Lacey’s story. My story.

Book Talk Review; Beautiful Redemption

The last book in The Caster Chronicles is Beautiful Redemption.

While I didn't cry nearly as hard as when I read Beautiful Chaos this one did have some feel good happy moments that made me tear up a little.

Is death the end . . . or only the beginning?

Ethan Wate has spent most of his life longing to escape the stiflingly small Southern town of Gatlin. He never thought he would meet the girl of his dreams, Lena Duchannes, who unveiled a secretive, powerful, and cursed side of Gatlin, hidden in plain sight. And he never could have expected that he would be forced to leave behind everyone and everything he cares about. So when Ethan awakes after the chilling events of the Eighteenth Moon, he has only one goal: to find a way to return to Lena and the ones he loves.

Back in Gatlin, Lena is making her own bargains for Ethan's return, vowing to do whatever it takes -- even if that means trusting old enemies or risking the lives of the family and friends Ethan left to protect.

Worlds apart, Ethan and Lena must once again work together to rewrite their fate, in this stunning finale to the Beautiful Creatures series.
This book is so good. And it hits all the right spots in which the story needs to be told.
Because I don't know about you but I was completely freaking out at the end of Beautiful Chaos. I was crying and shaking and did not want to believe that it happened.
Well guess what it did. This book changes everything. Especially for Ethan.
We actually get to see both Ethan and Lena's point of view in this book as they try to work together to change the hands of fate.
Fate that might not have actually been the original fate.
I enjoyed getting inside Lena's head. We got to see some of what she thinks about and how deeply she cares about Ethan.
Ethan who has battles to fight... even beyond the land of the living.
I cannot believe that this is the last book of the series! I love this series so much and Am so glad that I read it I'd recommend it to anyone.
The movie was pretty good too but nothing compares to books...
This was one of those series when I started it I wasn't sure if I was going to like it as much as I did. No scratch that I LOVED this Series!
One of the best plots with the best characters I am a little sad that it is over!
I hardly ever reread but this is one of those books that I can reread again and again it is just that good.
Lena and Ethan Share a love so strong that not even death can tear them apart.
Everything that happens in this book is for the best. And while it did get a little emotional It ends with a Happy ending. It ends just like how it was supposed to. Even though some of the things that happened I never Saw Coming.
This quote is the best and It brings tears to my eyes to read it...
*Quote- "There is a point. I don't know what it is, but everything I've had, and everything I've lost, and everything I felt- it meant something. Maybe there isn't a meaning to life. Maybe there's only a meaning to living. That's what I've learned. That's what I'm going to be doing from now on. Living."- Ethan Wate
I love that quote Best Fucking Quote of the Series.
It is what it ends up to be. It makes it whole.

Book Talk Review; Beautiful Chaos

The Third Installment in The Caster Chronicles is the most emotionally charged book in the series thus far.

 Beautiful Chaos...

Ethan Wate thought he was getting used to the strange, impossible events happening in Gatlin, his small Southern town. But now that Ethan and Lena have returned home from the Great Barrier, strange and impossible have taken on new meanings. Swarms of locusts, record-breaking heat, and devastating storms ravage Gatlin as Ethan and Lena struggle to understand the impact of Lena's Claiming. Even Lena's family of powerful Supernaturals is affected -- and their abilities begin to dangerously misfire. As time passes, one question becomes clear: What -- or who -- will need to be sacrificed to save Gatlin?

For Ethan, the chaos is a frightening but welcome distraction. He's being haunted in his dreams again, but this time it's not Lena -- and the mysterious figure is following him out of his dreams and into his everyday life. Worse, Ethan is gradually losing pieces of himself -- forgetting names, phone numbers, even memories. He doesn't know why, and he's afraid to ask.

Sometimes there's no going back. And this time there won't be a happy ending.

SPECIAL BONUS: Includes "Dream Dark," a thrilling short story set before Beautiful Chaos. When Link joined his best friend, Ethan Wate, on a quest through a mysterious network of underground passageways endlessly crisscrossing the South, he knew the journey would be dangerous. But he had no idea it would change his life forever.
So This is that book. You know that book in the series that is jam packed with mind-boggling  revelations and connections. But it is also filled with questions and it test you. Its the book that makes you Cry. Hard.

Yeah. That is the Book That Beautiful Chaos is. Its the one that no one wants to read because it is one step closer to the end and it is the one that is filled with all the emotions from all the books put together.

Ethan, Lena, Link, Ridley, Liv, Amma, and Macon return from The Great Barrier. Everything has been changed. Altered. The Order was Broken when Lena Broke the Seventeenth Moon and Nothing will ever be the same for anybody.

Lena is trying to understand what it means to be Both a Light and Dark Caster. Ridley has to live with Not being a Caster anymore. Link has been turned into a quarter Incubus or 'Linkubus'. Macon is now a Light Caster. Liv is no longer a Keeper-In-Training. And something worse is going on with Ethan.

Abraham and Sarafine try to use the broken Order to their advantage and the try to get the Demon Queen to grant them a new Order. One they can use to their advantage and Destroy everything.
How do you fix the Order of Things?
The Things that hold the world together?
Not only is the Mortal world affected by this but so is the Supernatural. Lena and her family have discovered that their powers are backfiring on them.
The Love Between Ethan and Lena is Powerful and it pulls at your heart strings. How much can two teenagers take? But then these are not your average teenagers.
Ridley is hiding a secret of her own.
 She has John Breed.
Something is not right with Ethan. He is discovering that things he used to enjoy he doesn't, things he hates he loves, things he should know, he forgets.
When The Come of the Eighteenth Moon The Characters must figure out what is going on and how to Fix the Order.
I just Cried so hard at the end. It was so good. I loved the whole book. Except the ending. I cried and Cried. I bawled Like a baby reading that Ending.
Beautiful Redemption Book Talk goes up on Tuesday and it is the Last Book in The Caster Chronicles.
Go here for Book Talks on...

Author Talk for Veronica Roth will go Up Tomorrow as well as something else I have Planned.

Book Talk for Divergent will go Up Thursday.

Book Talk Review; Beautiful Darkness

Beautiful Darkness is the Second book in the Caster Chronicles.

Ethan Wate used to think of Gatlin, the small Southern town he had always called home, as a place where nothing ever changed. Then he met mysterious newcomer Lena Duchannes, who revealed a secret world that had been hidden in plain sight all along. A Gatlin that harbored ancient secrets beneath its moss-covered oaks and cracked sidewalks. A Gatlin where a curse has marked Lena's family of powerful Supernaturals for generations. A Gatlin where impossible, magical, life-altering events happen.

 Sometimes life-ending.

Together they can face anything Gatlin throws at them, but after suffering a tragic loss, Lena starts to pull away, keeping secrets that test their relationship. And now that Ethan's eyes have been opened to the darker side of Gatlin, there's no going back. Haunted by strange visions only he can see, Ethan is pulled deeper into his town's tangled history and finds himself caught up in the dangerous network of underground passageways endlessly crisscrossing the South, where nothing is as it seems.
This book brings out emotions that the first one didn't, They are both really good books and I have come to love these books. Very much.
I love the characters and I love the plot. I love the romance.
Things aren't always what they seem and that couldn't be more true than for this book.
After a loss that affects everyone Lena starts to pull away and make choices that confuses us all.
Ethan tries to help her, as much as he can. But there are some things that don't even make sense to the Casters much less Ethan.
We see so much happen within these pages and sometimes it is heart-wrenching.
I couldn't believe in some of the things that Lena had said or done, it hurt my heart. And the things that come to light, the things that are characters learned about themselves makes for an interesting and compelling and Oh my Gosh reading.
Some things that the characters learn about themselves makes sense. It brings certain things to light and lines up.
We get introduced to a few new characters in this one. Characters that will play an important part in the rest of the story.
Lena and Ethan have to endure so much. All the characters do. And a big part of it is the Duchannes Curse.
Sarafine and Abraham Ravenwood, a strong and powerful Blood Incubus join forces and try to take what is not theirs.
 Lena's Seventeenth Moon.
In which Lena Claims herself. Light and Dark. She makes her own path, but at what price?
That is what we learn in the upcoming book Beautiful Chaos which will have its own Book Talk Tomorrow.

Book Talk Review; Beautiful Creatures

Hey Guys! Sorry that I have been absent but I have a Book Talk for you!

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl is a beautiful YA Novel that focuses on Love, Family, Power, and Learning to Claim Yourself.... I would recommend this series to anyone and everyone!

Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power, and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.
I This book is so good. And I loved it.
I love paranormal books and magic and mystery and everything that comes along with it.

This book is the perfect mix of Supernatural and Romance mixed together. Two of my favorite Genres in one.

Lena is a Caster. (Or a Witch) She moves to Gatlin South Carolina to live with her uncle.

Ethan has lived in Gatlin his whole life. And he wants nothing more than to leave it.

When he meets Lena Duchannes the first day pf school he is drawn to her.

Lena knows she can't let Ethan in, she can't keep him close because of her secret. But it is more than just the secret of her Caster family, it is something bigger. Much bigger.

Lena's family has a curse. One that affects the girls when they turn sixteen. But she doesn't know why.

Lena helps Ethan discover a whole other side of Gatlin. One filled with things he has only read about in his favorite banned books. One that can be beautiful and amazing but is also dark and twisted at the same time.

When Lena and Ethan discover things about themselves that shouldn't be possible between a mortal and a Supernatural they begin to question everything. Things that they don't understand are stirring in Gatlin and the dark is being brought to light.

I had so many feels while reading this book and my heart just went crazy at one point.
This series has everything. Magic and Adventure and Love and Danger and Power and Sacrifice.
Read it love it enjoy it.
Thank you for being patient with me as I was enduring Real Life (Yuck!) I wish I can stay here with you always... but sadly that is not possible.

Book Talk Review; Abel

So I am posting this early because one I am tired and don't think I am going to make it. Two I will probably forget to post it tomorrow if I don't tonight. And three Its Elizabeth Reyes... Do I need a reason?

 Abel 5th Street #4

Coming off the worst divorce in the history of marriages, Nellie Gamboa’s looking to let loose and make up for years of neglect. When months of building sexual tension between her and the young hot boxing stud, Abel Ayala, finally peak, she makes him an offer no man would refuse.

No promises. No demands. Just pure unrestrained passion.

Abel’s training for the biggest fight of his career. He has no time for a social life, much less a relationship. So this arrangement couldn't be more perfect. A beautiful woman asking him to help her alleviate her neglected desires—no strings attached. What more can he ask for?

As the lines between lust and something much deeper, begin to blur, Abel finds himself in an even bigger fight.

The fight to regain control of his now demanding heart.
Abel and Nellie. Anyone who has read the series knows that it was going to happen. That they were always that couple that you just knew was going to be together.
Though it didn't start off that way.
Remember the cruise? The one that everyone went on at the end of Hector...
 Can you guess what happened?
Nellie and Abel begin their no strings attached relationship on that cruise. And things go downhill from there, or uphill depending on how you look at it.
What starts out as a just sex relationship turns into something neither of them were expecting.
Nellie was married before. She has been hurt before, she doesn't want that. But of course she can't but fall for Abel.
Abel is training for the biggest fight of his life- he doesn't have time for a relationship, so a no-strings attached relationship with Nellie seems good and easy.
 Oh how wrong he is.
Nellie goes on a date with another guy.
And Abel gets pissed. No surprise there. They may not be together but she is still his. He is falling for her even if he doesn't know it yet. Or maybe he does but he won't admit it.
I have said it before and I will say it again. Elizabeth is awesome and a brilliant author and I am so happy to be able to read and talk about her books. I don't care if nobody sees my posts. I do it just becuase it makes me feel good.
Abel os all hot and sexy and dominant and the definition pf an Elizabeth Reyes Alpha male.
I cried during this book. Not a lot but there was enough emotion at one point that I had to cry.
I think that is why I like romance so much because it brings out these feels in you.
Not everything is perfect. Nothing ever is.
And although neither one of them knew what they were in for, at the end there isn't anything that would make them change their minds.
This is my Last Elizabeth Reyes post. Until I read Forever Yours and Desert Heat comes out.
It makes me kind of sad. I enjoyed writing these posts and reviewing  some of my favorite books by one of my favorite authors.

Book Talk Review; Hector

The third book in Elizabeth's 5th Street Series is Hector

Staying away from him was indisputably the sensible thing to do. The problem? She wasn't just drawn to him; she was utterly mesmerized...

Charlotte Brennan is no stranger to heartache and mortification. Her past is full of both. So when amazing and incredibly intense Hector Ayala, literally jumps into Charlee's life, her walls are immediately up. Letting her guard down and sharing her past and deepest secret is not happening. Charlee is not looking to get her heart crushed once again. However, her willpower proves to be no match for Hector's mesmerizing pull.

Guilt is a profound emotion to deal with and no one knows this better than Hector. So when he gets the chance to make up for a past indiscretion that's been gnawing away at him for months, he takes it. Doing so means he'll also have to pass up pursuing Charlee, the only girl he's ever been so fascinated by. But his inability to explain why they could never be has him dealing with a new kind of
guilt--the guilt of knowing he is unwillingly breaking her heart.

New Adult Contemporary - *Mature Content* Recommended for ages 17+ due to sexual situations and language.
Lets start off with a quote from the book that I just absolutely love
*Quote- "This wasn't something you just decided you were going to do. It was something that happened, and there was nothing in your power to stop it."
Can I just say that Hector grew up nice. Really nice.
I don't know how Elizabeth does it but every single one of her guys has been swooning in one way or another. Every. Single. One

Charlee is such a sweet girl. (She's kind of dirty too) and get this she is Elizabeth's first non Latina Heronie... I know shock right. But that of course is one of the many reasons she works well with Hector.

 Hector is a total Alpha.

Hot. This book is hot and full of the emotion that you can come to expect from a Elizabeth Reyes book.

Hector and Charlee are on the college chess team. Instant attracted on both parts, working through their problems isn't as easy as falling in love.

Charlee has been hurt before. She is this sweet little red-head and is  kind of quiet.

Hector is harboring a lot of guilt from high school. When he meets Walter, a guy he went to school with he tries to make up for what he didn't do in high school. Which was defend Walter against the bullies. Not just any bullies, guys Hector hung out with.

Now he wants to make up for it and stop feeling guilty for what he didn't do.

So Hector tries to be a good friend. But what do you do when your friend wants the girl that you are attracted to.

This is the problem that our Hector faces.

Hector begins to harbor a new kind of guilt. And this one hurts him worse than before.

This book has Steamy Scenes, Hot Alpha Males, and Lots of good-feels.

Charlee is a little dirty girl and of course we all know that a guy like Hector who wants Charlee to be his isn't going to deny her what she wants. ;)

When Charlee and Hector are together it is just good and right and I seriously have no idea how Elizabeth does it!

If you have read any of her books You know what I am talking about!! It is amazing writing with amazing characters and amazing story-lines and just AhMazing!

If you missed any of my previous 5th Street Book Talks go here:

Between the Vampire hours of Friday and Saturday Abel will be up

*For those of you who don't know what Vampire hours are because you go to bed at normal times like normal people they are anywhere between about midnight and six am.

Book Talk Review; Gio

Gio 5th street # 2 By Elizabeth Reyes

When tragedy strikes in the ring, Giovanni Bravo falls into a deep depression, walking away from his dream of boxing to train instead. He agrees to a two month get-away, helping train Felix Sanchez, his high school best friend and now welterweight champ of the world. Once at Felix's lavish boxing complex, he's reunited with Bianca Rubio, someone he remembers only as the girl with the innocent doe eyes back in high school. Her refreshing, cheerful demeanor not only takes Gio's mind off his troubled conscience, he finds himself falling for her fast and hard. The problem--Bianca is Felix's girlfriend.

Having a sexy, famous boyfriend has its perks, but they come with a price. Bianca not only has to deal with the ongoing tabloid rumors about her boyfriend hooking up with other women, but also his constant absence when he is on the road. So now that Felix will be in town for two whole months to train for his next big bout, Bianca is thrilled. He's even asked her to move into his cabin while he's there. But when he leaves for days at a time to promote his fight, Bianca spends time getting to know Felix's gorgeous new trainer and good friend, Gio. Increasingly drawn to his sweet smile and smoldering green eyes, she finds herself saying and doing things she normally wouldn't.

As it becomes more and more difficult for each to resist the other, Gio crosses the line between them. He hopes that one kiss will alleviate the overwhelming temptation and clear both their systems, but it does just the opposite. Their temptation suddenly becomes an obsession--a dangerous obsession that threatens to spiral out of control yet both are helpless to fight it.

 Adult Contemporary romance
Can I just say that Gio is a sexy hot boxer whom I just love... Thought I'd get that out of the way since we all know that I love all the Book Boyfriends that I write about... especially of Elizabeth writes them... if someone asked to give a list of my BBF's that list will be never ending... I'm just saying.

 Now on to the review!

So in Gio's last fight something happened... something big! and it messed with him a little. Well a lot. I felt so bad for Gio I actually started crying the first few pages.

He takes time off from boxing to recover but he isn't sure if he wants to return to the ring.

As if by chance his friend Felix invites Gio to his training facility to train for his next fight. Felix along with the other guys want to try to persuade him to get back in the ring. They hope that by having Gio go up and train with Felix he will want to get back in the ring.

Bianca is this doe-eyed beauty from high school. She lives in the same town as Felix's compound and they happened to meet again and catch up and develop a relationship.

Enter Gio and Bianca suddenly begins to feel all these things for him, Things she shouldn't

Gio and Bianca enter into a secret forbidden romance and neither one of them is prepared for where it takes them.

Yes Bianca ends up betraying Gio, and as much I can't condone it, as much as I hate even the thought of cheating in any relationship; fiction or not. Bianca and Felix were never really right for each other. You can tell that by their interactions and their conversations. And as much as it was wrong. Bianca and Gio did what was right for them at the time.

While I am not one to stand for it. I get it, and it honestly makes the story better for me. Yes I know my train of thought is fucked up. But the situation they were put in was what they needed. Though they didn't need what happened after.

It was horrible, not just what happened after Felix but the other events that occurred. I cried. I felt like my heart was ripped out, not knowing what was going on.

And I am sure that Bianca felt the same when she heard. And all the other characters who were involved and it tore at my heart.

I gave a sigh of relief when We finally got to the part where we learned if everything was okay. But then my heart shattered again when we got other news.

Sorry this is cryptic shit but I have to give it to you without giving it to you. If that makes sense?
Bianca and Gio are good, they are a good couple and they belong together.

I loved this book just like I loved all of Elizabeth's other books!

Finding Home Tour

So I am happy to be participating in The Finding Home Tour.

Finding home is by the lovely Aine Kelley.

I love the cover it is gorgeous

Can two broken people help each other learn to love again and find their way home?

For Samantha Cole, love and relationships have never come easy. Pain and heartbreak have forced her to build a wall around herself. Hoping to start over, Sam leaves Boston behind and moves to Napa with her best friend. Trying to make better choices in love, Sam establishes rules to keep her heart safe. Little does she know that one man will challenge her and change her mind. He has the potential to break down her walls and bring her heart back home.

Ben Foster has been dealing with heartache and guilt for the past two years, believing he lost his only chance at love. Pounding guys on the Rugby field and running the family winery get him through the pain. When Sam arrives the fog over his life slowly lifts. He wonders if she is the one who can help his heart find a new way home.

Letting go of the past and moving forward is not always easy. Their connection is strong, but their pasts keep getting in the way. Will Sam and Ben's journey tear them apart or help them find a place to call home?

 Here's a Expert:

As I approach, I realize I have to say something to him. What will I say? I haven’t a clue. I just have to say something, anything, but it couldn’t be any worse than him being my personal eye candy. Bravely, I look up at him and try to open my mouth, but nothing comes out. He’s amazingly beautiful. I’m speechless. And I’m never speechless.
The picture Jenny has of him doesn’t do him justice. Dark brown hair that’s all kinds of messy, gray eyes that have specks of blue thrown in for good measure, framed by thick eyelashes. I see a small scar above his left eyebrow that adds to his sexiness. Oh, and his mouth. His lips appear soft, plump and kissable. I’m thinking that with the lips, mouth, and his strong jaw line, he’s a triple threat. There’s no doubt in my mind that they have the ability to wreak havoc all over my body. Now, if his tongue pops out, I could probably have a mini-orgasm right now at baggage claim. Definitely sex on a stick. Can I get a lick please?
Ben clears his throat, and it startles me awake from my dirty thoughts. “I’m thinking you must be Sam. I really hope so because if I bring home the wrong person Jenny will kill me.”
I laugh and try not to sound like an idiot. “That’s me. I’m Sam. Love the sign by the way. Very Say Anything.” He looks at me strangely, like I just spoke in a foreign language. I quickly fumble for something to say. “You know the movie, right? The boom box scene? It’s one of my favorites. You holding the sign up reminded me of it.” Okay Sam, stop rambling. “Anyway, never mind. I’ve got all my stuff so we can head out now.” Just stop talking.
“Okay, let me help you with your things. This isn’t too bad. Are you having some things shipped out?” He bends down to secure my luggage on the cart.
“No, I really don’t need much. I put most of my furniture in storage at my Dad’s house and donated a bunch of other stuff. I’ve got my essentials, and if I need anything else, Jenny will take me shopping.” I fidget with my backpack straps to keep my body busy. I remove it from my left shoulder and begin to place it on my right one. I swing it with as much force as I can due to its weight. This, of course, causes me to lose my balance. Fortunately or not, it smacks Ben right on the side of his bent over body, and he goes down to the ground taking me on top of him. Could this get any more awkward?
My body is frozen. Holy pecs. Instead of saying sorry and getting up, I blurt out the first thing that comes into my head. “Holy chest! Fuck, I mean, are you okay? Sorry.” The fact that he just stares at me puts my nerves into overdrive. “Could this be any more awkward? I’m certainly making quite the first impression.” My voice starts strong but ends with a whimper. I mentioned his chest, stupid ass.
I can’t read the look on Ben’s face. I’m thinking it’s a mixture of surprise, amusement, but something else. Something I haven’t seen in a man’s eyes for a long time. It looks like longing, or maybe its lust? He stutters a bit. “I … I think as far as first impressions go, I’d say, so far so good. It’s not every day I have a beautiful girl fall on top of me.” He winks at me, and I feel something stir low in my belly. He thinks I’m beautiful.
“What? Is it like only every other day that a girl falls on top of you?” I try to act smooth as I get off him and reach for my backpack. I hear him laugh as he gets up, helping me with my backpack.
“Hey, be careful with that thing. You could really hurt somebody. What’s in there anyway?”
“Well my e-reader and laptop, but both are pretty light, so I’m thinking you’re just wimpy.” I fight back my laughter, but it slips out when he feigns being hurt.
“But not my chest, right?” Smug bastard! “Let’s get this stuff loaded up in the car and get out of here.”

And Another one!

Reaching down for her bags, I gesture to go inside. “Hey, let’s get your stuff inside. I’ll show you

where you’re staying. You’ve got one of the best rooms here at the ranch. Wait ‘til you see the view.”

Cursing myself for sounding like an overexcited tour guide, I walk through the door. She starts to

trail behind me, but stops. She turns away from the door and walks back down the porch stairs to a row

of grapevines. I put the bags down and feel that pull again to follow her.

“Is everything okay?”

She looks back at me. “Yeah, I just need a minute. I want to remember this moment—this shift.”

Her hands roam down her neck while she closes her eyes. “I want to let everything soak in.” I watch

her open her eyes. “I want to look at the view and see the grapevines and hills. I want to smell the

sweetness of the grapes and wine. I want to hear the rustling of the leaves and the tractor engine purrs.

I want to touch the vines, leaves, and grapes.” She looks back at me again, and I’m blown away. I watch

a stray hair fall in front of her face. It takes all my will power not to touch her.

“You forgot taste.”

She smiles devilishly. “Yeah, I definitely want to taste. What do you suggest?” She raises her

eyebrows, and I can’t keep my hand from delicately placing the strand behind her ear. Her breath

hitches from my touch. Oh God, this girl is going to unravel me. It’s been so long since I’ve felt this way-

it overwhelms me. The way she’s looking at me like she could devour me whole. There’s no doubt in my

mind what I want to taste.

Yep, I’m definitely wrecked.

“How about our merlot? It pairs nicely with some dark chocolate.”

“Sounds perfect. Let’s get my bags in, and then we can have that taste.” Now it’s her turn to wink.

Images of my tongue licking drops of red wine that trickle down her exposed neck and breasts

envelop me. All I know is if she says taste one more time, I’ll be taking a shower sooner than I thought.

This looks so good! I highly suggest that Ya'll go out and read it!
