Book Talk Review; Dreamland

One of the most powerful Books By Sarah

 Wake up, Caitlin

Ever since she started going out with Rogerson Biscoe, Caitlin seems to have fallen into a semiconscious dreamland where nothing is quite real.   Rogerson is different from anyone Caitlin has ever known.   He's magnetic.    He's compelling.   He's dangerous.   Being with him makes Caitlin forget about everything else--her missing sister, her withdrawn mother, her lackluster life.   But what happens when being with Rogerson becomes a larger problem than being without him?

This book is an emotional one. It is one that many teenagers go through. Many people in general actually.

I couldn't read this book without crying.

Caitlin is in a dream-state,  since her sister Cassandra left, and her mother became withdrawn, Caitlin met Rogerson Biscoe.

At first it's the distraction that she needed. With cheer-leading, a new boyfriend, and new friends, Caitlin tries to pick up her life.

 But then something happens, some…

A monster almost took my life.
My best friend carries half my soul a world away.
My boyfriend broke my heart but refuses to let me go.
And my father is dead.

I don’t believe in fate and I don’t believe in happily-ever-afters, but for some reason, I still hope.

Live, even with a tainted spirit.
Long for my other half to come back to me.
Risk another broken heart, just to feel loved again.
And refuse to let another horror break me.

In the face of my most recent tragedy, I have to decide whether forgiveness is something I can give. But even if that’s an option, can I be forgiven?

About Kristen Day

Website / Facebook / Twitter
I am a southern belle at heart with a crazy streak that desperately tries to escape at every opportunity.  I love all things nostalgic, rustic, and quirky.  I’ve been told I see the world through rose-colored glasses, but I prefer to think of them as kaleidoscope glasses – swirling and morphing reality into something I can digest (who hasn’t pretended those pasty lima beans were really kiwi strawberry jelly beans?).

When I’m not writing I’m making jewelry, painting, drinking sweet tea, watching the discovery channel, or going on random adventures in the mountains of North Carolina with my amazing husband.

EXCERPT: Rhiannon drew herself up to her full five feet plus two whole inches, lifted her pudgy chin and nose in the air, and walked into the conference room. Inside, a black-suited security team stood behind five men sitting at a conference table.  The seated guys looked like a staff meeting on Olympus: like the platinum-blond Sun God Apollo shone brilliant in his beauty beside radiant Eros, God of Love, who slept beside the seductive devil, black-haired Thanatos, who was the deification of Death, and two more blazingly beautiful demi- gods. Rhiannon stopped hard, nearly catching her high heels on the carpeting. Oh my God.Those guys had been on the c…

Book Talk Review; That Summer

Hey y'all! So I know I've sucked lately, and haven't gotten around to doing any Book Talks. Well, I'm here to make up for it!

That Summer by the talented Sarah Dessen

The more things change...  For fifteen-year-old Haven, life is changing too quickly. She's nearly six feet tall, her father is getting remarried, and her sister—the always perfect Ashley—is planning a wedding of her own.   Haven wishes things could just go back to the way they were.   Then an old boyfriend of Ashley's reenters the picture, and through him, Haven sees the past for what it really was, and comes to grips with the future.

I think that this was a good book. It has a good message of growing up.

Honestly this is my least favorite Sarah Dessen. It doesn't do it for me like her other books have.

This wasn't my first Sarah book and I'm glad it wasn't, because I probably wouldn't have read any other books if it was.

Haven is growing up. Things are changing. Too mu…
