Book Talk Review; Breaking Brandon

 Hey ya'll and happy Thursday!

Ready for a Book Talk on Braking Brandon by the wonderfully talented Elizabeth Reyes...

The Fate series is a Moreno Brothers spinoff series.  All books in the series are stand alone and can be read separately without the need to read the others in the series.

He ruled out attachments years ago. Then one day he crosses paths with a beautiful but pampered daddy's little princess. History has taught him one thing about women like her--steer clear.

She was starting over. She moved back to her home town, took a new job assignment, and left her past behind. For the first time in over eighteen months, she's even intrigued by a man--a sexy but cold and indifferent drill sergeant. Despite feeling drawn to him, she has no time to figure out his inexplicable aversion to her.

Then Fate steps in one night, forcing them together. There's a connection neither can refute, and they both consider giving into the undeniable attraction.

Fate however can also be cruel. Just when they surrender to their heart's desires, past demons resurface in the most unexpected way, threatening the happiness neither realized they so desperately needed.

So this book is different than we have come to expect with Elizabeth's books. Different in a good way of course but it has many things that I didn't see coming.
I admire the gamble that Elizabeth took with Breaking Brandon... though of course with such amazing talent she can do anything she freaking wants and I would read it and love it.

We get introduced to Brandon in Sweet Sofie. He was the neighbor hood kid who didn't have it as easy as those down the street. The Morenos did not like him. At All. Especially after Sofie.

But there was to many unknown factors for us as readers to judge him.

We get his story and its a tough one to read. Anytime I read books that have the emotional background that Brandon's childhood did it tears at my heart.

We meet Regina, she is running from a past that she just wants to forget. At her new job in her hometown she meets Sargent Billings; cool and aloof he doesn't seem to like her very much.

Brandon is too trying to escape his past and he ends up in the worst place to do that.

The meet of course by fate and erupt feelings from each other that scare but excite them both.

Brandon has called a no attachment years ago. But that was before he meets Regina Brady.

Regina wants a relationship but she doesn't. Its complicated in her mind.

I had a total fan-girl moment. Regina took Brandon to meet her family and I was squealing and jumping and everything all excited happy  when he met her sister Bell.

Then after all the happiness... the demons start to catch up with them.

As Brandon is forced to face his demon... Regina is stuck with hers... My heart just stopped with that.

The feels in this book are different than what I normally associate with Elizabeth Reyes Books. This book is a little more darker in a sense than her other books are. But just as good.

A quote from the book that defines the exact thing this book and characters help represent... In each other, in life, and in themselves. Its a good quote to use in real life as well.

I will see you on Saturday when I start in on the Fifth Street Series!

Apparently I don't know my days of the week. On the Fate Book Talk I just noticed that It said this post would go up Tuesday... when that was posted it was Tuesday... whoops
