Book Talk Review; Allegiant

The last book in the Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth

 Allegiant

The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered—fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.

But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature—and of herself—while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.

Told from a riveting dual perspective, Allegiant, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the Divergent series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in Divergent and Insurgent.

What if your whole world was a lie?
 What if a single revelation—like a single choice—changed everything?
What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected?

ONE CHOICE

ONCE CHOICE
CAN TRANSFORM YOU
ONE CHOICE
CAN DESTROY YOU

ONE CHOICE
WILL DEFINE YOU

So I was in love with Divergent and Insurgent had it's appeal too. That being said I think this one fell kind of short. It was still good of course but it didn't have the same appeal to me as the other two.
This is the first book that I can't say that I loved. I liked it well enough but I didn't love it.

I am still madly in love with Four of course. And Tris still holds a big piece of my heart even if I didn't like many of the decisions that she made in this one. Of course Four makes decisions that I don't agree with either and it makes me kind of mad and kind of sad.

There was one point that I was upset how Four was making decisions and how he executed them. Then the guilt of after of course.

I didn't like the ending all that much. I was a crying blubbering mess.

About the last eighty pages or so I just had a steady stream of tears falling and I couldn't stop them.

I think Veronica did a good job on executing it. I think that the way the series ended was ow it was supposed to end all along. The characters realized how much they mean to one another, and how much they can't save everyone, no matter what they do.

All the characters took a journey throughout this series that changed them . They all came to light on who they really are and how their choices aren't dictated by the way they seem to think they are, but how they choose to act on those thoughts.

This book kind of falls flat for a while. Everything that was built up in the first two books comes crashing down around them.

the middle portion of this book doesn't really do it for me. But the beginning is pretty good and the end is the attention getter that attracted you to the series in the first place.

Of course not all of the plot points in the middle of the book are bad. There are plenty of moments that make your heart stutter and that  make you fall back in love with the series.

For many of the scenes with Four and Tris, they are tense and hard to read. I love them together and when the fall apart it hurts. But when they realize that they need each other and that after everything those things don't matter. What matters is how they feel for each other. Those are the moments that warm my heart for them.

Veronica went on a wrote a blog post explaining the way that Allegiant ends. I think that it is important to read it. But ONLY IF YOU HAVE FINISHED THE BOOK! It CONTAINS SPOILERS AND YOU WILL BE RUINED IF YOU READ BEFORE YOU FINISH ALLEGIANT!!
