Book Talk Review; Finding Cinderella

And We're Back! Sorry for the Technical Delays that went on this past week but We are ready to continue with our Colleen Hoover Feature!

A chance encounter in the dark leads eighteen-year-old Daniel and the girl who stumbles across him to profess their love for each other. But this love has conditions: they agree it will only last one hour and it will only be make-believe.

When their hour is up and the girl rushes off like Cinderella, Daniel tries to convince himself that what happened between them only seemed perfect because they were pretending it was perfect. Moments like that with girls like her don’t happen outside of fairytales.

One year and one bad relationship later, his disbelief in insta-love is stripped away the day he meets Six: a girl with a strange name and an even stranger personality. But Daniel soon realizes that fairytales don’t exist, and unfortunately for Daniel, finding Cinderella doesn’t guarantee their happily ever after…it only further threatens it.

I love Daniel, he is hilarious and I was so happy that he got his own book, even if it is just a novella.

We learned in Losing Hope that Daniel hung out in the maintenance closet because he didn't have a fifth period. We also learned that he met a girl in there.

We get to see what happened when he ran into the girl in the maintenance closet. But we don't know who she is.

A year later Daniel is breaking up with Val, his girlfriend, who in my opinion does need to take some Valium and calm the fuck down.

He ends up at Sky's house and meets Six, Sky's best friend who just returned from a foreign exchange program in Italy.

They go on this really awesome date and make a connection.

I love the easy barter they have with each other. How there personalities fit so perfectly together. Like they were meant to be together.

Daniel pretends to be in love with the girl in the closet. They pretend to be in love with each other and they experience what making love to someone is like. Not just having sex with them, but having sex with someone you love.

When Daniel discovers that the girl he pretended to be in love with is the girl he might actually be in love with, it doesn't have a fairytale happily ever after.

Fairytales aren't real and that revelation might be the death of Daniel and Six's.

*Quote- "Don't open your eyes, give me ten more seconds to stare, because you look absolutely beautiful right now."- Daniel

"We all have deal breakers, Daniel. Some of us just hope we can keep them hidden forever."
