He wants to be alone.
Nightmares from his past keep him guarded and afraid.
Vice-One is his life. They’re his brothers—the only people
who helped keep him out of his own head long enough to
move on from the childhood he never asked for.

His therapy has been protecting his country, barely taking a
break before beginning his next mission. But no amount of
training can prepare him for his great challenge yet-
convincing Meeka Cline that she will be his.

She wants out.
Her world fell apart when King’s Harlots no longer trusted
her, but she continues to fight to gain back their respect.
All she wants is to help those wronged by the evil that has
put a shadow on everyone she knows.
Asher Donovan comes to her for help when he needs her
most only to have passion flare up between them. One
problem: He’s her best friend.

Putting aside their friendship, they use the heat between
them to please the depraved minds they now understand…

5 STAR ✰✰✰✰✰

What did I just read?! Uh, yes! Gimme more! This can be read as a stand alone but I highly suggest reading Grit first because you get a feel for Asher and Meeka along with the rest of the supporting characters. Stain is aalllllllll about
Asher and Meeka. These two have been best friends since they were kids. But that's it, just friends. They trust each other implicitly. This is a story of friends turned lovers...sometimes a bit cliche' but JM Walker hit it out of the park with their story.

Asher is undercover and trying to find the ringleader of this sex trafficking scandal that we learned about in Grit. He needs help and ends up bringing Meeka into this undercover as well, but not necessarily with her consent. As they are about to meet the person in charge now, Charles Brian, they end up kissing and things heat up extremely quick between the two of them. Now completely submerged into this other society they try to keep up appearances but things slowly unravel. Asher is more invested in the background of this story than you will ever expect. It will pull at your heartstrings! Unexpected people are in the middle and things go to hell in a hand basket very fast. Plenty of twists to keep you on your toes and constantly guessing who and what is going to happen next.

If there is one thing that JM Walker knows how to do, it's writing a HAWT scene, but one thing I have come to love is the way the bad guy comes to life with her words. Charles Brian is a bad guy that you love to hate. As if Meeka and Asher aren't intense enough on their own, the setting, the supporting characters and the bad guy will keep your heart pumping. I am not normally a fan of MC books but I cannot put this series down. Bad girls and their bad guys! Perfect combination.
