Blog Tour; Spy Girl

What happens when you get pulled out of spy academy before graduation because you look good in a bikini?

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

Get close to the hottest Prince on the planet.

Keep him safe.

Uncover the plot to assassinate him.

Kill the bad guys.

Don’t blow your cover.

And don’t fall in love.

She's been trained kill a man with a paper clip, tail a mark without his knowledge, is a master of disguises, and once during a training jumped out of a five-story building using nothing but an embroidered hankie as a parachute.

She's the star student at Blackwood Academy.
Only instead of excelling at normal collegiate activities like keg stands and frat parties, she's an expert marksman, speaks seven languages, is skilled at covert affairs, and can hack into any computer.

She's only a few months away from graduation and, hopefully, a coveted spot as an agent for the underground anti-terrorist agency, known only as Black X.

But is Spy Girl ready?

And at what cost?

Review

Origninally posted on April 10th, on the blog.

First of all, I just have to say wow.

This book was so much better than I first imagined. I love Jillian's writing, but this book showed just how amazing she truly is.

This book has a little bit of everything, sex, action, fashion, love. There's something in it for everyone.

We start off with X, she's weeks away from graduating from an exclusive spy academy.

She receives her first orders, protecting the Prince of Montrovia. Doesn't sound hard, after all she's a highly trained spy, and he's one hot prince.

But things quickly escalate as an unknown group attempts to take the prince's life.

There is, of course more to the story. The audience gets glimpses of background forces working behind the scenes. And it's both exciting and frustrating.

Exciting because there is more to the story, and I trust Jillian to do it justice. I trust that she will go above and beyond, to bring us the ultimate suspense story. But I don't want to wait for another book!

I need to know what happens.

I knew Jillian was the queen of suspense and surprise endings after reading The Keatyn Chronicles, in which each book left off at a part that had you dying for more. But this is something else.

She took her writing to a whole new level and I approve wholeheartedly.

Fast paced, lots of action, it's perfect for anyone who loves spy movies and romances.
There's a lot of romance, as our Spy Girl gets close to not only the Prince, but to someone else as well.
There's a lot of action as she tries to uncover just who wants to destroy the monarchy.
The outfits are awesome as well. When a Prince is dressing you, you expect lots of beautiful dress and jewelry.

The sense of anticipation throughout the whole book is great. You know there will be a showdown with the unknown person or persons after the prince, but you just don't know when it will happen.
This book keeps you on the edge, it keeps you wanting more, it keeps you conflicted between all the hot guys.
I so cannot wait for the second book. I can't wait for more Huntley, for more spy missions, and to hopefully to find out more about 'Spy Girl'.

*Quote- "I take a deep breath, trying to let go of my emotions and focus on what drives me. But I find it to be the same answer. Love... This is my mission. My love. My pain. My past. All muddled together, like a song inside my soul."

*Please note that Spy Girl is a standalone. Each book has it's own mission and complete story.

Excerpt
I know the drill. Open my orders, commit them to memory, destroy them.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

Protect the heir to the throne of Montrovia, uncover the person or persons behind the plot to assassinate him in order to take control of this geographically important sovereign nation, and eliminate the threat.
Get close to the hottest Prince on the planet and work for Black X, the double-black covert group so secret even the President of the United States is on a need-to-know basis?

I accept.

I think about what he said about me looking good in a bikini. Do they want me to hookup with this Prince in order to protect him? Are you kidding me? I’m valedictorian. I have the school’s highest scores in everything from parkour to the number of ways I can kill a man.

I frown as I’m burning my orders in the fireplace. “Sir, may I speak freely about my assignment?”

“I’m afraid I’m not privy to your orders. My job was to help choose the student best fitted for the task based on the parameters given to me.”

“And one of those parameters was that I look good in a bathing suit?”

He chuckles. “In this situation, my dear, they need an operative who is not only the best and brightest but one who can also demand male attention. Your handler is waiting for you outside. You leave immediately.”

“But I need to go pack. Tell people goodbye.”

“I’m afraid there’s no time.” He stands up and, in an uncustomary show of emotion, hugs me briefly. “Godspeed, X.”
