S Y N O P S I S:
Una

To many, I am little more than a myth. The Kiss of Death, a hired killer, revered by some of the greatest criminal organisations in the world. Trained by the bratva themselves, without conscience, without mercy, the perfect soldier. I’ll kill anyone… for a price. Death doesn’t discriminate, she sells to the highest bidder, but even I have a weakness.

 Nero

I want one thing—power. But power is merely a game of strategy. The pieces are on the chess board. Death is my queen, and also my pawn. She’ll paint this city red in exchange for the one thing she wants. Now all I have to do is watch it all play out. She’s nothing more than a weapon, and yet, I find myself wanting to dance with death, to possess her. And I always get what I want. A game of power. A risk that could cost her everything. An obsession that would see the world burn at their feet.

 A bloodied king.

A broken queen. Kill me or kiss me?

Review

I have a thing for Mafia books, but it's rare I find one that I consider good, or is able to hold my attention. LP Lovell has written a book that is both good, and can hold my attention.

Everyone wants to think outside the box nowadays, they all want to write something different. And mafia romance is about as far from regular romance as you can get. Unfortunately most of them don't plan out so well.

Kill Me is different. It has a dice backbone holding it all together. It takes the strong yet broken female and makes her stronger, breaks her harder. It takes the bloodthirsty male and makes him more savage.

Una and Nero work well apart. But they work better together. Unfortunately we don't get to see them work together. Hopefully in the next book we can see them rise together and create a beautiful bloody mess.

I was able to predict a lot in this book. My heart wasn't pounding out of my chest during intense scenes. I wasn't anxious to find out what happens next. But I was invested. And that's enough.

I was invested in the story, in the characters, and LP as a writer. I've been curious for a while now on LP and her style of writing but haven't had the chance to read anything else of hers.

Kill Me ends in a rather unexpected way for me. I couldn't predict how it was going to end. I want Kiss Me because I have a good idea of how the turn of events are going to play out, but you can never know. Especially with a book like this.

LP Lovell brings life to her mobsters. And that is really all you can ask for. Especially if you're like me and find the rather violent nature fascinating.

S Y N O P S I S:

0.5 in The Kiss of Death Series. Prequel novella to Kill Me.

At thirteen years old I was sold, doomed to become a sex slave. Nicholai Ivanov, boss of the Russian Bratva, gave me the ultimate gift. He saved me from a fate worse than death. He promised to make me strong, because only the strong survive, and the weak die, forgotten and inconsequential. I now live in a world of blood and violence, where humanity itself is a weakness. My life is not a battle of bad and good, but bad and worse. This is kill or be killed, survival of the fittest.

 Make me or break me?
