Book Talk; Broken Love

Yes, that's right. You get two Book Talks from me today.

From USA Today Bestselling Author Jillian Dodd . . . A broken love story.

After years of crushing and many failed seduction attempts, Palmer Montlake had finally scored the sexy Cade Crawford. Both a little drunk when they got back to her place, they were frantic with need, their desire intense.
But as the night progressed, the hot-mess hookup morphed to sweet lovemaking.
The kind neither had ever experienced.

But they were destined for heartbreak.
She was his best friend’s little sister.
He was her talent agent.
And they were dating in secret.
When they got into a wicked fight and broke up, all hell broke loose.
The kind neither have recovered from.

Six years later, they still hate each other.
But the universe seems to keep throwing them together.
When they catch the bouquet and garter at a mutual friend’s wedding, sparks fly between them — their chemistry undeniable.

Will they get a second chance? Or will they be left with a broken love?

BROKEN LOVE is a STANDALONE, CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE NOVEL following Cade and Palmer from the USA Today Bestseller, Vegas Love.

The Love Series is a series of STANDALONE novels featuring a different Crawford sibling. They can be read by themselves. However if you do with to read them all, they are best enjoyed in order.

As always I fell in love with this story. There is just something about Jillian Dodd's writing that speaks to me.

Her characters always feel real, her books always have that perfect amount of drama, love, sex, and fun.

Cade and Palmer are made for each other. Plain and simple. They had something good when they were together six years ago. But after a fight that ended their relationship they do whatever they can to stay away from each other.

It's painfully obvious that they need to be together and stay together. The question of course, is how. After not speaking to each other some chance meetings prove that they aren't over each other. At all.

Broken Love has the emotion that I love. I actually teared up in some parts because Cade is so freaking sweet. I also teared up because Palmer made a decision that I didn't agree with.

Jillian has always had this easy style of writing. Her writing is more like spoken words. They flow naturally and you can really feel like you're in the character's head. You feel like you know them because their thoughts sound like they could be your thoughts. I don't know how she does that, but it's fantastic.

Cade and Plamer had tricky reunion. Mistakes from the past come back to haunt them, but for two people who are destined to be together, they don't let that stop them.

I cannot wait to see what happens when the other two Crawford siblings find love. I hope they find love as great as Cade and Palmer's. It was fun to see some familiar faces in Broken Love. Cash and Ashlyn from Vegas Love make a few appearances. And a couple form one of Jillian's other series makes a quick cameo. Even though that was an intense and emotional scene, I read it a few times just to see it happen.

Jillian puts the idea of fate and soul mates into her books. And I love it. Because I might not have good ideas about love, but I do believe in soul mates, and while this might be fiction it still warms my heart to read.

I expected nothing less than wonderful from a Jillian Dodd book and that is what I received.

The sexiness of Cade and Palmer was fun. The drama was real. And there are plenty of funny moments. When you get the Crawford siblings together you can't ask for anything less than some fun sibling hazing.

If you're looking for a relatively quick and fun read (I read this in about six hours) then pick up Broken Love.

*Quote- "...I've been living a pretty rigid life, trying to make myself feel in control. It's all an illusion though. My life only feels centered when she's in it." -Cade

"The passion I feel now is bolder. It's audacious, dauntless. Every touch- every kiss- is familiar, but it's laced with the kind of desperation only true love can bring." -Cade

"We're like two pieces split apart at birth who found their way back to each other. We're soul mates- a predestined pairing." -Cade
