Book Talk Review; The Nymph Prince

I LOVED this book

Spoiled, arrogant, and reckless. It's a miracle Lorcan had survived so long. As a nymph, he was rare. As crowned prince and the son of a god? He was a treasure unlike any other. That never stopped him from putting himself in danger and fighting against his duties by leaving the golden palace beneath the sea, though. In search of him. A pirate who'd long since captured his attention. Possibly his heart.

Alek didn't choose his life of secrecy and pain. Magic was considered a great evil and anyone found with mage blood was killed. Abandoned after his town was destroyed, he was left alone and starving in the streets. Until the captain of a legendary pirate ship found him and gave him not only a purpose in his life, but also a home. That home was gone now.

When Lorcan finds Alek, wounded and breathing his final breaths after a sea battle, he does the only thing he can: carries the pirate away from the destruction and stays with him so he doesn't die alone. But Lorcan soon realizes that the pirate was more powerful than he ever imagined. Even for a mage.

With both men on the run from bounty hunters and rogues of the sea, the two journey to Lorcan's underwater kingdom. Beneath the waves, their strong connection grows even stronger and their lust intensifies. Alek finds the nymph to be sarcastic and spoiled, and Lorcan finds the mage to be secretive and stubborn, yet their hearts have never felt more whole. Just as they're tearing down the wall between them, the reveal of a dark destiny threatens to rip them apart. A war is coming and decisions—and sacrifices—must be made.
Can two souls brought together by fate weather the storm?

*The Nymph Prince is a 125k word gay fantasy romance and is Book 2 in the Tales of Fate series. Mermen, magic, adventure, and a guaranteed HEA. While it can be read as a standalone, it's best to read the books in order to fully understand and appreciate the story.*

I am so in love with this book. I’ve been waiting for what feels like forever to get this story. I fell in love with Alek in Found At Sea and I cried over him so much. My poor heart ached and I needed him to get his happiness. Jaclyn Osborn did not disappoint.

The Nymph Prince starts out with a bang. I cried my way through the scenes because all the heartache I was holding onto from the first book was there and seeing the perspectives from Lorcan and Alek hurt a lot.I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but Jaclyn Osborn really knows how to pull your heart strings. I’m starting to think that she lives off her readers’ tears.

Lorcan is the prince of the sea. His father is not only king but a god as well. The nymph is sweet and caring and so insecure. You don’t see that until you get more into the book, because his recklessness and confidence help mask it, but he is. What Lorcan fails to see is that his people love him because he cares and listens to them, even when he slacks on his princely duties. That’s what makes him perfect for Alek. Because he’s not perfect, and while he has his hang-ups, he’s not full of himself. He needs Alek to see him clearly, just as much as Alek needs Lorcan to love him.

Alek, my poor sweet mage. I’ve loved him since he befriended Fletcher. He’s young, he’s experienced in so many things, yet he’s not at the same time. Love, confidence, hope, he is missing all those things. I just want to sweep him up and keep him safe and never let him go again.

These two feel a connection from the get-go. They’ve had a connection for close to a year but neither one of them knows what to do with it until they’re face to face.

Neither one of them knows what to expect as they allow their connection to grow and they fall in love slowly. They help the other find their worth. Alek finds love and home, Lorcan finds someone who sees through all his acts. They take their time figuring out how to be around each other and how to work together as a couple, but when they do they see they're strong in ways they never expected.

Lorcan and Alek are thrust into dangerous territory when they both start having terrifying visions and threats seem to be around every corner. Not only do they have to try to figure out their connection and decide to embrace or reject each other, but they must try to survive when they obviously don’t have all the pieces of the puzzle.

My poor heart went through the wringer with this book. Lorcan and Alek go through a lot of trials to get the happiness they both deserve. They’re so good together. They fight for each other, even when they’re fighting with each other. They find the one thing they’ve always wanted in the other—home. But it doesn’t come without hardships and there were many times where I cursed out Jaclyn Osborn for hurting my sweet boys.

The Nymph Prince has everything from a sweet love story, to magic, to adventure, to danger, to fun and well-written characters. There are so many characters that need their story told and I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series.

Alek and Lorcan were everything I wanted and more. They fought hard and well and I was in tears at the end because after everything they were able to get everything they ever wanted and more than they ever expected.

*Quote-

“He was at his most beautiful when he wasn’t hiding away.”

“I barely knew him; yet, my heart seemed to know him just fine. As if it’s been searching for its missing half and then had found it with the nymph in my arms.”

“You make me feel things I’m too afraid to feel.”

“With that simple kiss, the cracked pieces of my heart were already beginning to mend.”
