Book Talk Review; Looking For Alaska

Looking For Alaska by John Green is a book that everyone should read

 before.

Miles "Pudge" Halter's whole existence has been one big nonevent, and his obsession with famous last words has only made him crave the "Great Perhaps" (Francois Rabelais, poet) even more.

He heads off to the sometimes crazy. possibly unstable, and anything-but-boring world of Culver Creek Boarding School, and his life becomes the opposite of safe.

Because down the hall is Alaska Young. The gorgeous, clever, funny, sexy, self-destructive, screwed-up, and utterly fascinating Alaska Young, who is an event unto herself.

She pull Pudge into her world, launches him into the Great Perhaps, and steals his heart.

 after.

  Nothing is ever the same.

This book is totally awesome and if you don't believe me then here is a quote proving it

*Quote- "If people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane."- Pudge

Pudge has a boring life. Period, the kids he can call friends are just the geeks who let them sit at their lunch table. He is stuck in this Floridan life that is neither exciting nor interesting. He is obsessed with famous last words and wants this Great Perhaps.

So he convinces his parents to send him to Culver Creek his Junior year of High-School.

There he meets his roommate The Colonel. He also meets Takumi and Alaska.

Pudge gets sucked into their world. They give him the nickname "Pudge" which is ironic because he is tall and skinny and doesn't have an inch of fat on him.

They introduce him into a whole new world of pranks and rebellion and life.

The group of friends experience a lot together. And it is not even what they do but what they say or what they feel. It is the emotional ground that they help each other through that makes this book Special.

Warning this book Is a Mind Fuck. It totally Messed with your Head. You don't know what to expect and the way that it is written it doesn't give anything away. It takes you on a bumpy ride that literally Screws your Mind Over.

One main Concept is that of the Labyrinth. The Labyrinth of Suffering that Alaska is obsessed with.

It makes the characters view life in a different way and it makes the reader Look At life in a different way.

It challenges your mind and steals your heart.

I recommend this book to anyone to read. Everyone needs to read this book. Not only is this a great book filled with awesome characters it also gets you to think.

How will you get out of Your Labyrinth of Suffering?

*Quote- "You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking about how you'll escape one day, and how awesome it will be, and imaging that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present."-Alaska

This book made me cry so hard. It was so amazing. I can't talk about the after too much because of spoilers but it was Amazing.

Pudge doesn't find his way out of the Labyrinth of Suffering, but he knows where to start. He has started on his journey of the Great Perhaps... I wish him luck.
