Book Talk Review; The Opportunist
Book Talk on The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher is underway!
Olivia Kaspen is a sharp tongued manipulator used to always getting what she wants. With just one exception-Caleb Drake, the one she foolishly let slip away. After a chance encounter brings Caleb back into her life, Olivia finds herself wanting a second chance with her first love, and asking herself how far she is willing to go to get him back. Her only problem is a red head named Leah, Caleb's new love. Olivia must fight for what was once hers, and in the process discover that sometimes love falls short of redemption.
First off I have the correct Formatting for this Book Talk..I have no idea what the heck was going on with the other on...
Second all I have to say is that this book was so wrong yet it was so right. And I mean that in the best way ever.... This book was filled with lies and deception and angst and self-loathing and it was just filled with all of these negative feelings and situations, it was the most compelling and deep book I have ever read.
This book is a mind fuck book... I mean the characters are so twisted and wrong and it doesn't sound at all appealing but it is.
Because you want to know just what is going on with these characters, Olivia catches your attention from the beginning and she doesn't hide the fact that she knows what she is doing and that she knows that it is probably wrong she actually underestimates herself for it.
Of course Caleb Drake may have something to do with my obsession just a little bit. Because there always has to be a hot guy.
Tarryn is not like other authors she writes the bad that is in everyone only her characters are aware that they are bad they know what they are doing they do it on knowing that they could be hurting someone.
This is about self love...In the end through all the drama this book is about self love and it is about learning to love someone more than you love your self and trying to do what is right through all the lies, through all the deception, through all the pain.
And there is pain OMG is there pain! I cried during this book, I laughed during this book, I felt during this book, I loved during this book. And I learned... This book fucks with your mind and forces you to look at things from the perspective of the characters.
Go buy this book, learn what life is really like when it is not coated by fairytales...
