Book Talk Review; The Mark Of Athena (Heroes Of Olympus)

This is where the Rick Riordan Feature ends sadly as this is the last book by him that I have read.

This is the third book in The Heroes Of Olympus Series

 The Mark Of Athena

In The Son of Neptune, Percy, Hazel, and Frank met in Camp Jupiter, the Roman equivalent of Camp Halfblood, and traveled to the land beyond the gods to complete a dangerous quest.
The third book in the Heroes of Olympus series will unite them with Jason, Piper, and Leo. But they number only six--who will complete the Prophecy of Seven?
The Greek and Roman demigods will have to cooperate in order to defeat the giants released by the Earth Mother, Gaea. Then they will have to sail together to the ancient land to find the Doors of Death. What exactly are the Doors of Death?
Much of the prophecy remains a mystery. . . .
With old friends and new friends joining forces, a marvelous ship, fearsome foes, and an exotic setting, The Mark of Athena promises to be another unforgettable adventure by master storyteller Rick Riordan.
I think this is my favorite book by Rick so far in the Series. The Romans and Greeks join forces...
Somewhat to try to find the Doors Of Death and Stop The Giants from raising Gaea. New friends and Old Friends come together.

This Book is told in four different POVS, Percy, Annabeth, Leo, and Piper.

Each character tells the story of their journey and the inner turmoil feel.

Percy has conflicting emotions on many things and carrying the weight of the quest on his shoulders is breaking him down. Relying on his friends to take over in situations is difficult for him.

As Athena pointed out in the Percy Jackson Series, Percy's Fatal Flaw is trying to take control and protect his friends. Those ties he has to them, and his need to take charge so they don't get hurt weighs heavily on them.
Annabeth is having problems of her own. She has a quest that is separate from the  Prophecy Of Seven. A Quest that many before her have failed.

One that forces her to face her darkest fears.

Leo is questioning his worthiness. Is he as important as the others? Do his friends really respect him and see him as they see each other? Does he connect better with machine than people?

Leo feels like the odd man out.

And he also has a weird connection to Hazel and a Boy from her past that makes it even harder for him.

Piper has been having strange visions. She feels insecure in her relationship with Jason.

They quest is weighing heavily on everyone's shoulders as they come closer and closer to the end.

Can't wait to read The Next Installments in this Series! Seriously you need to pick this up!
