Book Talk Review; Someone Like You

It's the Book Talk for Someone Like You a heart-touching book by the talented Sarah Dessen

The world is a terrible place not to have a best friend.

Scarlett was always the strong one.

Halley was always content to follow in her wake.

Then Scarlett's boyfriend died, and Scarlett learned that she was pregnant.

Now Halley has to find the strength to take the lead and help Scarlett get through it.

Because true friendship is a promise you keep forever.

It's junior year. Halley and Scarlett are as inseparable as they always have been. Only this year, something else is keeping them close together.

Halley gets a call while she's away for the summer. The call that changes their lives forever.

One night, everything changes for Halley and Scarlett. They manage through one heart-breaking obstacle, only to be confronted with another.

Add in Macon. A boy who seems all wrong. A boy who gets to Halley. A boy who changes Halley, one who helps her be the person she is.

The school year isn't anything like Halley and Scarlett expected.

Dealing with a pregnancy the two best friends embark on separate and similar journeys.

Keeping with the same Sarah Dessen writing style, this book tells the story of life, love, freindship, and self-discovery.

It's a common theme in Sarah's books. Her books explore being a teenager and coming into your own. with hardships, friendships, relationships, and real life problems. Sarah's books are so rateable to teens. Whether or not you know what the character is experiencing, you can still connect to the emotions from inside the book.

This was the first Sarah book that I read, and it really caused me to go out and read all the other books by her that I could get my hands on.

Please tune-in when I Book Talk all of Sarah's other books!

*Quote- "No matter how strong or weak I was, she was a part of me, as crucial as my own heart. I would never be strong enough, in all my life, to do without her." -Halley

"The language of solace , and comets, and the girls we all become, in the end." -Halley
