Book Talk Review; Love Springs Eternal
Everything about this is just lovely
Apprenticed to the infamous Necromancer of Boston, Daniel Macavoy has seen a lot of upheaval in his life since that fateful day. Rescued from an abusive father and the monster he was once enslaved by, Daniel has struggled with every trauma that scarred his heart and mind.
Yet with the love and support of his found family, Daniel has become stronger than he ever imagined. A capable sorcerer, he's been entrusted with the ancestral family seat of the Salvatores, the legendary site of the Massacre, the culmination of the centuries long Blood Wars between the Salvatores and the Macavoys. The huge mansion is a testament to old school magic, high sorcery, and comes with a history almost as impressive as the enigmatic fae warrior who calls the gardens home.
Rory Brennan is immortal. A member of the nearly extinct High Court Sidhe, Rory remembers when humans climbed down from trees and learned to stand upright. His long life has been spent hand in hand with his identical twin, Cian, who happens to be locked in prison, sentenced to a thousand years for heinous crimes committed while Rory slept for centuries in stasis, hovering at the edge of death. Rory wakes to a modern world after his resurrection at the hands of the Necromancer of Boston, only to lose Cian to a mortal prison.
Once worshipped as a god, Rory Brennan is learning what it means to exist in a modern mortal world. Rory finds that for the very first time, true love has found its way into his immortal heart.
Daniel and Rory grow closer, love springing to life in the narrowing space between them. Daniel has concerns about Cian, the serial killer twin brother of the man he loves, and the repeated attempts of strangers trying to break into the Mansion. He's got no idea what these strangers are after, and Rory is certain that Cian is in ever-growing danger locked up in Blackguard Prison.
With the danger increasing from all sides, Daniel and Rory struggle to balance surviving with falling in love. A dragon with a growth spurt isn't helping matters, and his mentor's watchful eye makes things both more awkward and potentially lethal.
LOVE SPRINGS ETERNAL is the fifth book in the bestselling Beacon Hill Sorcerer series and should not be read as a standalone.

I fell in love with this series when I read the first book. The world the author has created is a fun one built with diverse characters and compelling storylines. I've been looking forward to Daniel's book since we first got to know him in the previous books. Add in a hot fae warrior and I was completely sold before I even read one word of this book.
Watching Daniel come into his own, knowing his history and seeing him thrive, was a beautiful thing. Here's this man who was so hurt and abused by the people who were supposed to love him, now thriving because his family's enemy is a kinder person than they will ever be. The changes you see in Daniel in this book as opposed to the earlier books in the series are huge and he's not done growing and learning about himself yet. He's coming into his own, both magically and emotionally. Trained by Angel, he can handle anything thrown at him, even if he's doubtful at first. Paired with the love and support from Angel, Isaac, Simeon, Eroch, and Milly, he's ready to be the person he was always meant to be. Even if he needs some coaxing to get there.
Rory, while still finding his feet a bit in this modern world, is the perfect person for Daniel. He's kind and patient and there to help catch Daniel when he falls. After so long in stasis, he's experiencing the modern world while also helping to guard the Salvatore estate. It's there that Daniel and Rory get closer and the feelings they've been harboring begin to surface for both of them.
This book is so lovely. While there's action and some bad guys, it's a lot about the romance between Daniel and Rory. These are two characters who need each other more than ever as they're both separated from their family. Daniel is the new caretaker of the Salvatore estate, while Angel and Isaac would be by his side in seconds if he asked, he also takes his new job very seriously and doesn't want to lean on them too much. Rory is separated from his twin as Cian is making up for everything he did previously. This leads the two of them to explore more of the delicate friendship between them. A friendship that gradually grows into more as they assist each other in returning the estate to its former glory.
What I loved most about this book are all the good feelings it has. Yes, there is some mystery and bad guys that have to be dealt with, but since Daniel is not Angel, he's not at the forefront of this fight. He defends his new home and helps the twins when they need him, but much like Isaac isn't his brother, neither is Daniel. He might be trained by Angel, but his priorities are different and that's okay because it's who he is. There's still plenty to sink your teeth into. Especially with the way the author plants information that will be relevant for the next book.
Love Spring Eternal was everything I wanted and more. It was romantic, the characters were brilliant, and it left me itching to get my hands on the next book because I can already feel the tension mounting in Angel. While this series must be read in order, I highly suggest you pick it up. The whole series is amazing and this one is especially perfect.
