Title: Lover - Survivor Story

Author: TM Smith
Genre: M/M Romance

Release Date: April 19, 2018

Life has not always been kind to Shannon Dupree. On the outside he’s carefree and fun loving, but when it comes to his past he’s evasive and secretive. Running away from emotionally bereft parents at just fifteen, Shannon escapes life with them but steps into the waiting arms of the devil.
Rory Landers is a rising star at the Bureau. His personal life, however, is nothing to write home about. He hopes to take his limited relationship with Frank Moore to the next level when they finally solve the Langford murder case, but that doesn’t turn out as planned. On the plus side, he meets free-spirited college senior Shannon Dupree.
Rand Davis finds himself fortysomething and single when his partner of more than a decade is unfaithful. Taking over the Cold Case Squad frees up some of his time, and Rand welcomes newfound friendships within the Langford-Moore family circle. He thinks relationships are not in the cards for him until he meets an agent with an attitude and a vivacious blond that make him want so much more.
Past, present, pain, and suffering collide, ushering in the possibility of a life and love worth fighting for. Although their personalities couldn't be more different, their three hearts beat the same. Shannon, Rory, and Rand learn the definition of love, commitment, and strength and if they allow themselves, the trio will find all that and more—in each other.

I've been reading more MMM and some have worked for me, some haven't. This book falls in the middle of me loving it and it being just okay. I love the twist and turns just like in Survivor they seemed to come out of nowhere and kept me on my toes. However, like Survivor I felt this book told more than showed the relationship between the three main characters.

I loved how Shannon and Rory began their relationship. How we got to see them get together and fall in love. I would have loved to see the same for them and Rand. I do believe that they had a strong connection, however, I didn't get to enjoy it because we only got small glimpses of them all being together. The sex was hot, but we missed that connection.

I would read more in this series. I've become familiar with the characters and the writing style, despite it having many plot twists, is easy to read. Would I like more depth? Yes. MMM is hard to write as you have to show all three characters as equal partners, and while there is that. We do see them being a throuple, we don't get to spend as much time with them all as I would like. We see Rand love them from afar, I would have loved to dive deeper into their relationship.

I hope two other characters from this series get a book. I find myself enjoying these books, despite wanting more depth to them.

All in all Lover kept my attention and I read it in a night.
