I’ve always let my past dictate my future, letting it paint a picture of exactly what I
don’t want to be. Where I don’t want to end up.
Drake Chambers is as arrogant as I am stubborn. A college quarterback, a national
star. I thought he was just another one of those guys ... the type every girl should
stay away from, but he’s carrying more than the weight of the football team on his
shoulders.
He unravels the feelings and beliefs I’ve held onto for so long.
I thought we had it all figured out. Two people who’d finally found their happily ever
after, but the past always has a way of sneaking into the present.
With one decision, everything changes ... forever.
Guest Post from Main Character Drake Chambers
Describe your “offensive strategy” for winning Emery.
I’m not sure Emery wants to hear this again, but honestly, I didn’t want a girl in my life, not the way Emery is. I wasn’t trying to go after her, and I know she wasn’t looking for a guy like me. I think fate made up the strategy, wanted us together because we’d understand each other. For a while, I hated fate, but fate doesn’t come without a purpose. I am a guy and guys tend to fuck up when they overthink things. I fucked up big time, and then I did need a game winning strategy. I really wanted her – no scratch that - I needed her, but she deserved the best version of me. I waited until I could give it to her, hoping it would be enough. I prayed every day along the way that I wasn’t too late, that she’d actually forgive me. Obviously, I’m not going to tell you if this was a win or loss. You have to find that out yourself.
